The French National Day is celebrated in memories of the beginning of the French Revolution started in the Bastille on 14 July 1789. The celebration marks the anniversary of the unity of the French Nation in the Storming of the Bastille during the French Revolution.
Bastille Day History
After a feast on 30 June 1878, in Paris by official in which they discussed to honor the French Republic with some celebration. After the decision was made it was also accepted by the public as well as the official and non-official member to celebrate it. Again on 21 May 1880, a proposal was given by Benjamin Raspail that a law has to be made to celebrate the Republic Day on the 14 July every year and it’s marked as a national holiday. On 6 July 1880 the law was made officially approved. As many years has passed on the celebration has added up lots of creativity and attraction and thus in 1989 France celebrated 200th anniversary of the French Revolution.

Bastille Day Celebrations 2017, Traditions
Present day this day is celebrated with large-scale public events which including a military parade in Paris, as well as communal meals, dances and fireworks. In this celebration Military and civilian parades is a must, with that Musical and dance performances are conducted. This day as communal meals which is conducted to remember the French unity during the French revolution. It’s concluded with spectacular fireworks displays.

Many French people like to have some special fruit salad with a great color combination of red, white, and blue which make them think of the importance of the Day and their patriotism. The salad includes raspberries or strawberries to represent the red part, the white peaches or nectarines to represent the white part and the blueberries to represent the blue part of the flag. Thus the Eiffel Tower and the French national flag are marked as important symbols of Bastille Day celebration. The French national flag consists of these three vertical bands of equal width are colored in people face. People prefer to wear clothing these colors to respect this day.
